Android OS: The Most Popular Mobile OS

Have you ever came across an Android phone? The answer is 99% Yes, until and unless you are living in the 50s or 60s era you may have not encountered a person with an Android phone. It was initialy developed by Android Inc., which Google bought in 2005. It is a language written in Java, C, C++ and others.

Android comes with all the goodness of Google services like YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail, Google Drive, Dou and many more pre-installed to use right at your fingertips. The interface is very easy to use and various inputs are to be done to process a task.It is an open source platform where OEMs can design it accordingly. The core Android source code is known as Android Open Source Project (AOSP), and is primarily licensed under the Apache License. Some fantastic use of this is by OnePlus. They offer Oxygen OS which is superior to any other custom skin UI currently. Oxygen OS has that fluidity and swiftness plus a look alike skin to Stock Android which no other OEM or brand offers. Stock Android is the purest form of Android which comes straight from Google and it can be found on Nexus, Pixel and Android One devices. With constant updates over the years, Android has seen a massive growth as well as tons of new features & improvements. Some great great features like split screen mode which still cannot be found on any Mobile OS yet (iOS specifically). This provides the ability to use two apps side by side on the same screen. The phone partitions spaces for the two apps automatically or the user can even set it manually according to the liking. This popular OS’s phones are customizable to the point where sky is the limit. It offers tons of customizations like different widgets, live wallpapers, icons and tons of more options are available. Its just that a Droid user can design his/her own way to use the phone no matter which brand’s device he has.

The reason it is so popular is because of its wide range variety. Android OS can be found on a Rs. 5000 (or even less) phone to a Rs.70,000 phone. All the same features are available in all Android phones until and unless there’s a hardware limitation in which the software can’t do anything. On the other its counterpart, iOS is exclusive to Apple devices and not an open source like its rivel is. Also the major factor it is not widely used is because the price Apple asks for its devices. Everyone can’t afford an Apple device therefore have to settle with a cheaper and affordable OS. Though iOS is smooth as butter and has even longer support for its devices which is rarely found in the latter.

Rest is the person’s own preference whether he/she is TeamAndroid or TeamiOS. Everyone has its own preference and tastes and there’s no denying in that. I personally use an Android and had even used iOS for 3,4 years but have come to a point that Android is for life and cannot switch to another OS.
