Asus is a brand known for PC hardware and motherboards, but they do also build phones and some great ones recently. These are like the mid-range offerings, Zenfone Max series and Zenfone 5 series. They were launched last year, to continue its growth in smartphone portfolio Asus has just announced Asus 6z in India.
Asus 6z is exclusive for India as of now, formerly it was names as ZenFone 6 but due to Delhi high court issues with Zen Mobile, they have been ordered to remove the Zen branding. Though the final hearing is on 10th July so lets see who wins this. Coming to the phone, it is the flagship of the year from Asus with top of the line specs. As being a flagship, it has this glass metal sandwhich design with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on the front. But that’s not all, the innovative and unique feature of the phone is the functionality and mechanism of the phone.
Asus calls the camera what it is, ‘Flip Camera’ which is literally the same camera for the rear as well as for selfies. Meaning the same quality for rear photos as well as for selfies. Well, you don’t find that in any phone as of now so its quiet impressive. It has 2 cameras, one mormal RGB one and other being 123 degree wide angle camera. The normal lens is a Sony IMX586 48MP while the wide angle is 13MP sensor. Ya, that’s about it, no selfie cam as these both are also the front cameras when they flip 180 degree.
As it is a flagship, it is the best in class Snapdragon 855 SoC with all the GPU goodness of the SoC. The Asus 6z features a 6.4-inch, FHD+ LCD display with 92 percent screen-to-body ratio. It comes in 3 variants, 64GB ROM 6GB RAM, 128GB ROM 6GB RAM, 256GB ROM 8GB RAM. To keep things simple, Asus has has entered with a cleaner UI known as ZenUI 6 which is very close to stock Android and includes goodness of Asus features as well. All this is run by a huge mammoth 5000mAh battery. Other features include a triple sim slot meaning a dedicated SD card Slot and a HEADPHONE JACK! which most of the flagships lack.
