After weeks of teasers, PUBG Mobile Indian version makes its debut
The highly awaited Battlegrounds Mobile India is finally here exactly 30 days after the pre-registration for the battle royale game went live. But there’s a catch. As of today its only available for early access users which unfortunately by the time of writing this has reached its full capacity. Now you must be eager to play the game but wondering how to download BGMI. Read on.
But this won’t let you stop from enjoying the most popular mobile game. Even if you got a chance to enroll in the ‘early access’ which can be found here, we would suggest to install the official BGMI game once its available for everyone to download from the Play Store. This is because it will receive constant updates time to time and you’ll be on the stable updates channel.
Minimum requirements
The minimum requirements for BGMI remain exactly same as PUBG Mobile i.e. atleast 2GB of RAM, minimum Android 5.1 recommended to be played on a fast and consistent internet connection.
Now there are several ways to download and install Battlegrounds Mobile India in early access or beta version
Steps to download Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) by TapTap
- Download TapTap APK from its official website. Find it here to download
- Once installed search ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’ in the TapTap app or just click here to directly open the game’s page
- The game will weigh around 712MB and additional 600MB of resource pack once you open the game for the first time.
- Open the BGMI game, set your character and name (this is random, later you can retrieve your old account)
- Next the game will prompt you to import existing data from either Twitter or Facebook account. Select which ever app your old PUBG account was made on
- Once the data is retrieved, enjoy the game and pop some headshots.
Since TapTap is a third party app store for Android, you may recieve future updates for the app (if any) directly from here. Also if you want, you can now uninstall the TapTap app. This will NOT delete the BGMI app.
That should do it for downloading BGMI in early access through TapTap app.

Steps to downlaod BGMI through OBB for Android
If you want to install the game classic way instead of TapTap, there’s that too. Just follow along the steps
Pre-requisites:-
DOWNLOAD APK FILE FOR BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA HERE
DOWNLOAD OBB FILES FOR BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA HERE
PS – The files can take some time to load and finally download. Leave the webpage opened for a couple of seconds
- Download both the files given above
- Install the APK file and extract the .ZIP file
- Go into your app drawer and you’ll find BGMI app. Open it. This should create a obb folder under ‘Android’ directory
- Open your file manager and go to Android > obb > com.pubg.imobile to make sure the folder is created
- Go back to ‘downloads’ where you downloaded the obb file
- Move that obb file to the newly created folder i.e. com.pubg.imobile
- Clear all apps from Recents and open the BGMI app
- Enjoy the game and pop some headshots
After fully installing, further steps to retrieve your old data remain same as above.
The official launch date for BGMI is still unclear but since it just went live for beta testers, the official launch is not far of it seems. Also, another doubtful aspect is Battlegrounds Mobile India for iOS is yet no where seen for pre-register or early access of any sort. Most probably iOS users will get to install the game from App Store once its officially launched along with its Android counterparts.
Update: Official Launch for Android
Debunking all rumours that Battlegrounds Mobile India’s official launch would be one month after the early acess went live. Well, that’s clearly not true as Krafton is finally officially launching year’s most awaited battle royale game on the Play Store today i.e. 2 July, 2021.
Yes, unfortunately it’s Play Store only and iOS launch is nowhere to be seen.
There’s something in store for ‘early access’ players as well. A 137MB update on the Play Store will furnish the game and discard known bugs (if any).
Either way, you can now enjoy the highly awaited PUBG game by installing from the above said methods if you haven’t got on the Play Store.
Hard luck for iOS users though.
