The amount of innovation this phone packs sure comes at a great price. Therefore the price is $2000! Making it one of the most expensive Android phone ever. It will first be released in the United States on April 26, 2019, and in Europe on May 3, 2019. Samsung has no started sending out review units to tech YouTubers to experience it and give their views on the same so that it would help in the buying decision of the consumers.

The Backlash

After few days of usage of the Galaxy Fold, some reviewers are experiencing massive hardware issues with the phone. Like the screen goin partially fully blackout, the protective film coming off on its own and more. Checkout the images below:-

Galaxy Fold issue 1

Mark Gurman on Twitter -“The screen on my Galaxy Fold review unit is completely broken and unusable just two days in. Hard to know if this is widespread or not.”
Galaxy Fold issue 2

Marques Brownlee on Twitter :-
” PSA: There’s a layer that appears to be a screen protector on the Galaxy Fold’s display. It’s NOT a screen protector. Do NOT remove it. I got this far peeling it off before the display spazzed and blacked out. Started over with a replacement.”

Galaxy Fold issue 3
Dieter Bohn on Twitter :-
SUPER YIKES: something happened to my Galaxy Fold screen and caused a bulge. I don’t know how it happened, and I’m waiting to hear back from Samsung. It’s broken.

The images indicate a lot of things. The protective film which appeared to be a screen guard is not supposed to be removed – as said by the company. This phone is certainly facing some display issues fiasco. Some even stated that even without removing the film, the display has gone blacked and completely unusable. It also indicates that the company is shipping a half baked product. Whatever the case is, we are still yet to receive an official statement by the company.

The Gadgets Hub’s opinion/take on this:-

The cover screen of the Samsung Galaxy Fold

Lets come to both the displays one by one as this device is all about display. The cover display (when its folded) in our opinion is very small for today’s standards and for day to day tasks. If you want to experience something great you have no option but to switch to the bigger display by unfolding it. Also it has nifty feature like 3 apps split screen, moving the content from small screen to the large screen in swift seconds. The cover displays also does have huge huge bezels which everyone might not like. Now, the larger and main display can give ultimate experience, the dynamic AMOLED Display is sure a joy to the eyes. Watching movies, videos or gaming on that display would be a pleasure. The battery also seems great and could last for a day easily. The phone is clearly for the classes and not for the masses. Same specification phones can be found at a much lower price. Though there are some issues currently but hopefully Samsung can fix that before the shipping date to the customers.
