Samsung has finally taking the Indian market seriously. Launching devices one after the another and valuable devices like any other mid-range phone these days. After recently announcing the Galaxy M10 & M20 last month, Samsung is back with another impressive device in the M series itself and that is the Galaxy M30.
The Galaxy M30 is sort of similar to the M20 but with better optics and display and additional touches here and there. The M30 has the Samsung signature SAMOLED display that is a massive 6.4″ display where as the Galaxy M20 had 6.3″ TFT Display. Another change between the two includes the 3rd camera bening added to the M30 which is a depth sensor. Galaxy M30 comes with a gradient back finish which is pleasing to see. Talking about similarity it has the same new chipset used in M20, the Exynos 7904.
Other specs includes the mammoth 5000mAh but the phone can be charged in few hours because of the quick charger included in the box. Sadly, the phone again comes with Android 8.1 Oreo with NO One UI out of the box. The headphone jack and USB Type-C have been retained as well. The phone is surely a valuable for money especially for someone looking to buy a Samsung phone in this price range. The phone has been priced at –
64GB ROM 4GB RAM – ₹14,990
128GB ROM 6GB RAM – ₹17,990
The Gadgets Hub’s opinion/take on this:-
Being a Samsung phone it’s a great deal, continuing the legacy of its siblings the Galaxy M10 & M20 by giving good specs at affordable prices. But maybe it still doesn’t have what it takes to blow away the competition. The reason for that is the Exynos 7904 is as not powerful as the current processors in this range.Like the Snapdragon 636 and 660 are still better then what Samsung has to offer. Now with the entry of Redmi Note 7 Pro with Snapdragon 675 at ₹14,000 this can become a hard sell. Though both have their own cons and Pros like the M30 has the fantastic AMOLED display at this price range and the big 5000mAh which the Redmi Note 7 Pro lacks. Also the Note 7 Pro has Glass finish on the back as well so it feels and looks premium whereas all M series including this phone have polycarbonate finish. It will be interesting to see how these phones fair up against each other in real life. A person wanting a brand phone then look no further then Samsung in any segment. This phone is perfect for the people who don’t indulge much in gaming but amazing for media consumption because of the AMOLED panel.
