Samsung is on a roll recently with its launches in the mid-range segment in India. It has announced various devices in the Galaxy M and A series under the Rs. 20k mark. One of them was the Galaxy A50 which was launched way back in March and in our opinion is still better then the newly launches in at Rs. 20,000. So, lets see how it competes with Galaxy M40 and Motorola One Vision

SoCThe A50 packs its own in house Exynos 9610The Galaxy M40 has the mid-range beast SoC called Snapdragon 675 which is very good in performanceSurprisingly Moto has gone with Exynos this time instead of Snapdragon or Mediatek. It has Exynos 9609 which is just behind 9610 M40
BatteryIt has quiet a large battery i.e. 4000mAh which should be the norm these days.Galaxy M40 has a smaller 3500mAh which seems average these daysMoto One Vision also packs a 3500mAh battery A50

Other FunctionsThe A50 has very nifty features like Always On Display, a triple card slot, headphone jack and other One UI goodiesThe Galaxy M40 doesn’t even have a headphone jack and uses a hybrid sim slot. It also lacks Always On Display due to lack of Amoled display though it still has One UI featuresThe Moto One Vision has the standard Moto features such as chop chop to flash and twist for camera. It does have a headphone jack fortunately. Also Moto Display is present.Galaxy A50

Camera comparison with Galaxy A50

Samsung Galaxy A50 vs Galaxy M40

As far as cameras goes, the Galaxy A50 clicks more sharper pics whether day or night. Also the contrast and shadow levels are better in A50. In the selfie department also the A50 excels with its 25MP front camera.

Samsung Galaxy A50 vs Motorola One Vision

The Galaxy A50 has triple rear cameras vs two on the Moto One Vision, so this gives a slight edge to the former by including an ultra wide lense which helps in capturing wider view of the picture. Though normal photography on both are very similar.

The Gadgets Hub’s opinion/take on this and price:-

As can be seen above, the Galaxy A50 wins on most of the departments. The main buying factor of it can be its AMOLED Display. The 4GB RAM & 64GB ROM variant of the A50 is available for Rs.18,490 wheres the Galaxy M40 retails for Rs. 19,990 for the 6GB RAM & 128GB ROM and its comes in this storage option only. On the other hand Moto One Vision is priced at Rs. 19,999 for the 4GB RAM & 128GB ROM. But the fact is that only the Galaxy A50 provides a dedicated slot for Micro SD card so the 64GB ROM won’t be an issue for many people. We still think that the Galaxy A50 is one of the best devices to buy under the Rs.20,000 mark as it provides so much value and features.
