OnePlus is preparing the announcement of its next iteration of phone(s) that is the OnePlus 7. But for the first time, they might launch two phones at the same time and they are OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. The launch date of the phones is pretty imminent and some specs have also been confirmed.

Over the last one year, OnePlus has launched 3 different phones namely OnePlus 6, Oneplus 6T and OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition and they all have a hike in prices as they were launched. This clearly is a marketing technique so that people retain the brand name overtime nonetheless only 2 devices were enough for a year though as all have same processors, design with few dissimilarities. A leakster revealed that the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 would be announced globally on 14th May 2019.

The phones will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 and that’s pretty obvious because OnePlus always uses latest SoC on its major flagship. The ‘Pro’ version might be an upgraded version of the OnePlus 7 and that might feature the 5G capabilities. Also the Pro version might have curved edge screen like the Galaxy S10 or Huawei P30 Pro. OnePlus is following its cousin companies vivo and Oppo by implementing pop-up selfie cameras as leaks suggests. This mechanism might not be liked by everyone so its a risk factor. Nevertheless, by implementing pop-up front cameras you’ll real full screen display with no Notch or punch-hole fiasco. But the chin still remains to be seen visible. Other specs include 6.4/6.3″ Full HD Amoled display with an indisplay fingerprint scanner. The camera will get a major overhaul as it might have 3 rear cameras which include wide angle camera, telefoto lens and RGB camera. Ofourse, it would have the signature Oxygen OS which is OnePlus’ custom skin on top of Android.

The specs are very impressive but these days OnePlus is hiking the prices and should consider that also. With the implementation of pop-up selfie camera the price is expected to go up but that’s the challange for OnePlus to bring the prices down within the limits of people. Also do note that Zenfone 6 series is launching on 16th May and that device sure is to give a tough competition to OnePlus as it did with the Zenfone 5z.

Update(24 April 2019): Launch date Officially conifrmed

OnePlus officially confirmed the launch date for the OnePlus 7 series of phone through a YouTube video. The date is set for 14th May 2019 and the launch event will be held at Bangalore and New York on the same date.
