Poco has debuted its Poco M3 Pro 5G in India
Gone are the days when 5G phones cost an arm and a leg. With the technology advancing at high pace, smartphone manufacturers are able to provide the next gen connectivity i.e. 5G at much lower prices. Just 5 months in 2021 and we will already witness 5G phone under Rs. 15,000
The previous holder of ‘cheapest 5G phone’ was the Realme 8 5G which launched not long ago. Poco today has announced the globally launched Poco M3 Pro 5G now in India too making it one of the cheapest 5G phone in the market.
Images of the Poco M3 Pro have been surfacing the internet. The design language is similar to the vanilla Poco M3 as it features a huge black chunk around the camera with the ‘POCO’ branding and ofcourse why would anybody not want to know its a “5G” phone, therefore 5G branding too at the bottom.
Specs of Poco M3 Pro 5G
Apart from being a 5G phone, it boasts of almost same specs as of Realme 8 5G. This includes 90Hz LCD Display, Mediatek Dimensity 700, 48MP main camera with 2MP macro & depth cameras each and 5000mAh with 18W charging. Additionally Poco M3 Pro might feature dual speakers and an IR blaster as is the tradition with Mi phones (Poco uses all resources of Xiaomi).
The ultra-wide angle has been compromised on Poco M3 Pro 5G as well to accommodate 5G. Personally I feel, brands should rather omit the 2MP macros and depths camera and instead provide wide-angle lense along with main camera and that’s it.
Another major thing to note is that being a 5G phone, how many 5G bands will it actually support? Recently, there’s been rage of all sorts from enthusiasts and buyers of 5G phones like OnePlus 9 series and Mi 11x wherein which those phones barely 2 or 3 5G bands. Which means that in specific locations, due to lesser bands, phone can’t take full advantage of 5G.

Should you wait for Poco M3 Pro?
If one really doesn’t care about ultra-wide angle and 5G is its top priority then the wait is worth. Also similar specs can be found on Realme 8 5G but many may prefer MIUI over Realme UI so for them this is the perfect midrange 5G smartphone.
