samsung has finally unveiled the most anticipated phone i.e. Samsung Galaxy M30s as it had been teased in a way to create hype and sure the hype was real when now everything is official. Samsung Galaxy M30s launch date was 18th September & we also covered the same before the launch about what all we knew and what was teased by the brand itself & you can check it out here. Almost all the rumours of Galaxy M30s were true. Galaxy M30s price is also very aggressive this time around.
Samsung Galaxy M30s is truly a phone finally on par with the rivals like Realme, Xiaomi etc. as it does pack a punch to give other brands a run for their money.
Display of Galaxy M30s
Samsung Galaxy M30s has one of the best Super AMOLED displays in this range and what’s best? It comes straight from the house of Samsung which has one of the best panels in the world be it in mid-range phones or high-end phones, Samsung panels never fail to impress. The screen size is same as its predecessor i.e. 6.4inch 1080p just like Samsung Galaxy M30 and with a infinity-U notch.
Cameras
This aspect of Samsung Galaxy M30s has got a major boost with the implementation of a 48MP sensor and the first for the Galaxy M series. This 48MP is Samsung own in-house Samsung G1 sensor which is great but not good enough then the likes of 48MP IMX586 from Sony. This has been done to keep the costs low. At the end of the day, the software optimisation is the one which matters a lot no matter how good the sensor is. Other 2 camers on Galaxy M30s is a 8MP ultra wide camera and a 5MP depth sensor both of f/2.2 aperture while the main 48MP sensor is f/2.0 aperture. Front camera is a 16MP for crisp & wide selfies.
Performance
Samsung Galaxy M30s’ performance has gone to a new level with Exynos 9611 which is a brand new SoC from Samsung. This chip is finally the one to take on the competitors like the Snapdragon 710/712 or Snapdragon 660 and above series. Interestingly, it’s built on the 10nm architecture as opposed to 14nm on the Exynos 9604 used in Galaxy M30 and several other Galaxy M series devices. Lesser the architecture, more the efficient the SoC is meaning less battery consumption but at the same time great performance. Exynos 9611 can even play PUBG Mobile in HDR settting whereas Snapdragon counterparts cannot but frame drops can be noticed due to high graphics settings i.e. HDR.
Battery
This is to be considered the most unique selling point of this device. Galaxy M30s has this huge 6000mAh which is given by no other brand in the world at this price range. This battery will easily last 2 days for a average user while 1.5 days for a medium to heavy user. This phone won’t break a sweat with its humongous battery. What’s more is that it has a USB type-C port and comes with a 15W charger in the box. This charger is not that fast for a 6000mAh phone but can’t expect more in this budget that too from Samsung.
Miscellaneous things you should know about Galaxy M30s
The UI on the as expected to be OneUI on top of Android 9 Pie and this phone will receive 2 Android updates and Android 10 somewhere next year. Samsung didn’t kill the headphone jack on the Galaxy M30s which is ironic as it finally removed it from Galaxy Note10+.
How does it fare against the Competition?
Samsung Galaxy M30s surely packs a lot of punch and give serious competition to otherse. On the other hand, this is a perfect device for loyal Samsung fans as they finally will have something to brag about. Samsung does have lot of fans around the globe and they’ll mostly prefer Samsung over other Chinese brands. Samsung could gain back there market share from the hands of Realme & Xiaomi as they have been ultra aggressive in providing specs at an aggressive price like Realme 5 Pro with segment’s first ever quad camera. Only time will tell how this phone is perceived by people when it goes on sale for the first time on 29th September.
